Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 19, 2026
Overview
Dog Breeder Licensing Center is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this site and how we use it.
Information We Collect
We collect basic, anonymized analytics data to understand how the site is used. This includes:
- Pages visited — the URL path of each page you view
- Referring website — the domain that linked you to us (e.g. google.com), not the full URL
- Device type — whether you are using a desktop, mobile, or tablet device (derived from your browser's User-Agent string)
- Search queries — if you use the USDA License Lookup search, we record the search terms and filter selections to improve the tool
We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any other personally identifying information unless you contact us directly via the contact form.
Unique Visitor Counting
To estimate the number of unique visitors, we generate a one-way cryptographic hash from your IP address and browser User-Agent string, combined with the current date. This means:
- Your actual IP address is never stored in our database
- The hash cannot be reversed to recover your IP address
- The hash changes every day, so we cannot track you across days
- We use this only to count approximate unique visitors per day, not to identify or profile individuals
How Analytics Work
Our analytics are entirely self-hosted. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking service. All analytics data is stored in a database on our own server. Your data is never shared with or sold to any third party.
Analytics data is automatically deleted after 90 days.
Cookies and Local Storage
This site uses your browser's localStorage solely to remember that you have acknowledged the disclaimer modal, so it does not appear on every visit. No tracking cookies are set for analytics or any other purpose.
Third-Party Services
We do not use any third-party advertising, affiliate programs, or embedded content (such as social media widgets or external videos) that could track you across the web.
The contact form is processed by Formspree, a third-party form handling service. If you submit the contact form, your name, email, and message are sent to Formspree for delivery. See Formspree's privacy policy (opens in new tab) for details.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
